Personally I have no problem with either Tattoos or Piercing.
But what do you as other christian youth think of them.
Are they wrong?

I have never really quite understood how and why Teens make Christianity fit their life rather then their lives to fit it.....

It's like.." Discard what I don't like".....
It's like.." Well, I see no problem with that kind of ppl"
It's like.." It's not hurting anyone, it's my choice"

When will my generation ever accept a role of servent-hood..... alot of people seem to have a problem with authority.... and more then ever, it's a search for happiness that has droven alot of my christian friends into the faith..... yet half of them will not accept cirtain things about christianity....
Interesting.....

Hahahaha, just some random thoughts.. that's all. Take care.

well i think they're alright AS LONG as they're not causing you to stumble in your walk with Christ.  If thats all you ever think about or if you use them for sexual immortality or other stuff then yea those are a bad idea.  but if its just another peice of clothing on yourself that you forget about as the day goes on and your still faithful or whatever, then heck yea they're ok.  if you dont want one, dont get one.

I know that it is a big Jewish custom to leave this world as you came into it, so really no piercings or tattos, but that's Judaism...

I see nothing wrong with Christians with Tattoos, as long as they are not immoral in design or nature.  Some more traditional people will disagree, but it really depends on what you think sometimes.  A cross or something like that in a modest location (No butt cheeks, eck!) is just fine by my standards!

Ok, I know this going to sound weird considering I'm a teenager (16) and I'm not trying to get people to agree with me just telling you what I think. My decision is really just based on a personal choice, nothing else but anyway...
I would never, ever, ever get a tattoo or get anything except my ears pierced. I'm not sure why, but it just somehow doesn't seem right to me.
You know, I've never actually discussed this with anyone before so it's my own opinion...

Tattoos? well my parents dis-like them, so they wouldn't let me get one even if i wanted one. but i see nothing wrong with piercings...I mean if you didn't want your ears pierced (or belly button or whatever) you'd just take out the earring thinggy for a while and the whole would cover up or whatever, but tattoos stay there...i mean i think you can remove them with some kinda sergery (sp?) but i disagree with them. just my opinion.

Great stuff by punkstar! Really great Cheesy.  Well ok friends, do we want to live a life set apart or do we want to live a life like the non-saved?  I mean lets have some dignity here people.  I'd only allow ear piercings on my daughter if I was a parent but even THAT isn't biblical.  If you read Leviticus 19:28 states: Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD .
Isn't this all we need??? I mean the answer is right in your face if you look into the bible for answers my friends.

My ears are piereced, so I'd ok with pierecing, but I'm not sure about tatoos yet..I personally think it's a personal thing with you and God.  B)

Well personally i dont think there is anything wrong with either one....but i prefer not to get a tatoo....because i think one of the most disguisting things is a tattoo on some old person's saggy skin!  Wink and face it we all are goin to get old (unless over course God comes first)..... but hey thats just me!!   Smiley

i personally think that its your own conviction between you and God. But I personally think that, if they do not cause you to fall in your relationship with God, nor do they(tattoos&piercing) cause otheres to fall in their relationship with JEsus Christ then why not have them.

as you see thats in the old testament which was still under the law.  and in the law was this rule (or law whatever ya wanna call it).  but we're not under the law anymore but grace.  it is by grace you have been saved.  so i dont think it matters unless its gonna cause you to trip up in your walk with Christ.

:\.  Hrm.  Well, I do think tatoos and piercings would cause you, if not others to stumble.  People would question you for having it, so why have it.  I very much agree with us being saved by grace.  But, as you said if it doesn't effect our faith then there isn't a problem.  Why have it either way really..?  It's doing you no better to worship our Father.  I had an earring or two myself, and I took it out when too many secular people asked what a christian was doing with such things.  They said: "Isn't that mutilation? Aren't christians against it?".  I dont know.......this is hard for me to debate but is very interesting.  I'm waiting for someone to change my mind.

why did you take them out?  no offense but it sounds like you gave in to thier stereotype of what a Christian should be.  if you keep listening to those people who think that they know what Christians should be, and they themselves arent even Christians, then that can lead down a very scary road. how can a tattoo with a Bible verse on it cause you to stumble?  you dont only have to get tattoos of flaming skulls and women in bikinis, there plenty of stuff you can get besidest that sick stuff. stop listening to the ideas of secular people on what you should be doing as a christian and start listening to what God tells you as a Christian.  if you dont want to wear earings because you dont like them or if they hurt your ears, then dont wear them.  but if your not wearing them because secular people think its non Christian then thats kinda strange.  sorry if this sounded rude cuz it was not meant to at all.  just trying to get a point across.

See what I was getting at Daniel is that......letsay I worked for Blockbuster and I was a supervisor of some sorts, someone seemingly dedicated to the business.  Then when in public outside of Blockbuster, I wear Hollywood video apparel.  But then I go out and advertise for blockbuster.....wouldn't this hurt my credibility?  I just believe that inorder to have an effective evangelistic approach to people it really does matter how we present ourselves.  Then you might say, what if your earrings and tattoos with a bible verse attracts a secular person and through that you might evangelize to them?  This is very possible, however, I don't believe Jesus needed any tattoos or earrings inorder to make his ministry effective, he was able to save all kinds of different people and never had to change his appearance.  Please continue, brother.  I'm glad you write back in such a timely manner

 How odd.
The dude giving our communion mediation mentioned this today.
Talking about how all the different pirecings he saw at Kings Island a few years ago... then went on to say that body piercing saved each of our lifes..

I'm getting off subject now but had to share.  B)
