At youth group on Sunday, we're going to talk about betrayal.  One of our youth said, recently, that they were always scared people were talking about them behind their back- it's a fear of theirs.  Then another youth told me we ought to do a devoton over betrayal (because of the other youth's fear).  So. . .

  • 1) What are some times and ways you've been betrayed?
  • 2) How can one overcome betrayal?
  • 3) What are ways we betray people and don't realize it (whether unconcious or not).
  • 4) And, of course, the Bible is our guide, so try and think of Bible Characters who've been betrayed or actually betrayed someone themselves, and what did they do about it.

Betrayal could be a VERY personal topic, hence I hope we can actually be serious and mature about this, as I'm guessing you all hope and want this as well.  Smiley

It's been my life experience that really, only people that are problems for others get talked about. People who go out of their way to show others that they appreciate them and will always be there for them rarely get talked about, and if it happens, others who are touched by that person's kindness will rebuke them in your stead.

Also on't give people a reason to talk bad about you. The bible says this in the NT letters where it is stated that let your behavior be righteous before men so that they have no reproach against you. That's the key.

Peace
