OK, so I think dattaswami is a cool person, mostly.  Lots of knowledge of God and lots of perseverance, and very nice as well.  But this is a youth forum, and I think we need to start posting things to help youth out- sorry, but replying to your posts, dattaswami, and your massive posting which is VERY confusing to most (and not to mention, has much non-Christian thought)- these things probably aren't very helpful to teens who are potentially hurting and in need of love, or who have serious matters they want addressed.

So, I vote that instead of, from now on, replying to dattaswami, we just
F L O O D this forum with awesome, youth-oriented posts.  Don't have any ideas what to post about?  Just look at the board title (this one is "christian debate"), then go to google, type it in, and you'll get lots of stuff.  Also, you could post questions here you've encountered at school, home, from TV, your own thoughts, etc. about Christianity, and post them here.  Or better et, sometimes we don't see how debate can be practical in a wolrd feeled with lonley, hurting, depressed, etc. teens- post qestions here abut the relevancy of these topics, and we'll find out how they fit together!

I just want to get this board back to beign youth oriented, not being a blog for dattaswami.  And like I said, nothing personal against dattaswami (esp. since at some other youth forums we're I'm a semi-moderator, I asked him/her to try and post on fewer boards, and he/she complied very nicely).  I just want these boards to be JCYouth, again.  Smiley

Cha-Cha-Cha!

Datt is like the only poster in ages in some of these forums, and while I like the activity, I still sense a sort of automaton essence to him/her. I've experienced Datt in other forums and had a similar experience, and its mostly been flooding with pre-written material. Though as moderator I'd like to delete much of his/her posts because I've seen the progression after people reply, and even more so if they don't (continual flooding), he/she is fundamentally obeying the rules *shrug*. Datt states that his spiritual view incorporates the Judeo-Christian spiritualism, so that partially qualifies his participation in this forum.

I'd post a few things from my Messianic viewpoint (which is more towards Messianic Judaism) but they usually lead to debate, and that's not something I have time for in my busy schedule.

How about you post a few things and I'll try to shoot a reply or two your way like I am now?

Peace

Ya, hence the less is more comment. Tongue

the robotic sense about the postings are a bit unnerving (and relentless and smothering), but that might be a borders/cultural issue (haven't invested enough time to figure it out yet, datt) and like Rav said....it's actual posting and discussion in a board that's just sprouting new life after being dormant for awhile.  But I can't jump into anything he/she posts with a true meat-filled discussion...

You are old. Tongue ...lol, hmm had a feeling beef and broccoli might be your ultimate downfall.

Someones trying to tell me redmeat makes a person stronger than eating mean birds and fish and that's why I am petite and weak. Is this true that white meat isn't a strong protein?

Chicken/turkey/tuna/babies are great protein sources. Grass fed beef is still superior when it comes to building strength though. Because white meat sources are usually much lower in fat content and a few other things, they can't fully stimulate strength producing processes the way grass fed beef does. For instance, fat (good fat) found in beef helps stimulate use and digestion of key nutrients that can't be broken down by water. Lots of people out there look at the fat content and assume it translates into "fat on body" but fats are essential to many key body functions. In fact, if your body didn't get fats and oils, it would break down or seriously damage your body. One way of getting the correct amount if a person is dieting, is simply to have at least one teaspoon of olive oil per day if they are cutting all fats out. Olive oil is great for filling in part of that "fat" bonus we get from beef.

Body builders eat lots of white meat, so that should tell you that it's a good foundation for building strength/muscle. The thing about being "petite and weak" is that muscle won't grow beyond what its daily demand is. For instance you see a miner and a painter eating the same amount of foods, yet the miner is much stronger and has much bigger muscles. This is because when the muscle is pushed to be used more, and harder, it naturally starts to change itself so that it can carry that burden. Weight lifters use this principle through steadily increasing how much weight they work out with. This makes the body adapt and use more of the protein a person eats daily to build the muscles. Right now if you eat a good deal of white meat and you're not getting stronger, it is because you don't demand enough from your muscles for them to grow and adapt. Essentially a good portion of that protein is going in your mouth, and going out the other end without ever being used.

Beef is superior when it comes to protein and other things, but it isn't as healthy (it often has too much of those "other things"). In short, chicken is not inferior to the point that it makes you weak. It's great, just use what it has to offer more. Get some weights (something challenging at first) and work out daily, slowly increasing the weight. When you see that you are bulking up instead of getting stronger, stop at that level and work out more for toning. Weight lifting may seem like its only for boys, but women who weight lift when they're young have been shown to be much healthier later in life as stuff like osteoporosis sets in (weight lifting helps increase bone density). Even older ladies should weight lift (starting out very light of course) as this helps with circulation as well as other things.

Babies are low on fat. Tongue  High on poop.

I definitely get olive oil because I put that on salads and for my pastas, but the turkey bacon and what not i eat does brag about "lean fat" content. Sometimes my body craves protein so I know I don't always get as much as I need, but if what you're saying is true than I should be okay with eggs, chickens and turkeys then

I did buy some small weights and have been trying to do some exercises with them just for my arms sake. Being the miner that i am, I only use a few muscles and the others are lazy bums. Makes my whole arm ache not using some and having others too used...so figured balancing things out will only make things stronger and give me more performance. Toning is fine, I just don't want to be a rock. I like to be squishy. I just felt like red meat isnt going to be as healthy for me as what I'm eating, but want to be stronger since apparently my weakness is shining out to friends now!  Angry...strong hands, weak wrists. Nice lil combo.
