Today (just 2 of hours ago or so) a couple of spammers registered on the forum and posted a good amount of useless unappropriate stuff (both on forum and shoutbox). As soon as I noticed it I got rid of them and their messages (deleted the users and all their posts with them). These are their info: Nickname: Jebus (the email used was most probably not his real one. Got in contact with the owner of that address.) IP: 98.244.237.56 Hostname: c-98-244-237-56.hsd1.fl.comcast.net Nickname: pinion gdfjkgfd@dskgfdg.com (this mail is just randomly typed in by him) IP: 70.109.124.213 Hostname: pool-70-109-124-213.alb.east.verizon.net If something like this happens again, contact me as soon as possible (a mail at arkav@hotmail.co.uk would do) |

Traced the IP's, First one is in florida, second in New York. First email address has been used before on another forum, not entirely sure whether it is fraudulent or not.

Yeah. I've been trying to keep up with spammy posts that are just posted for advertising purposes, editing out links and whatnot, and deleting anything I see in the shoutbox. Thanks =)

Yep, it's something I want to take up a job in. I can already tell you that with what they said in the shout box that they possibly came from 4chan or an affiliated site.

The email used by the first guy was most probably not his real one. Got in contact with the owner of that address, who seems to be his little brother. Told him to get me in contact with him, will see how this goes. I'll try to keep you updated.

Well, likewise, it would be stupid if they signed up with their official email. Especially if the forum were to get hacked, they could easily get any information they wanted.
I'm surprised that you even got a response that quickly. Just a for-warning, they tend to act stupid. Unless their email had gotten hacked, there's not much you can even do.

No no, it wasn't about those people. It's about the random people who join, and post only one post about various topics. 95% of the time they don't even come back, and some links infect computers which is why I delete them rather than keep them. Theres no sense if they are not going to be an active member.
