I was checking around JCYouth as I sometimes do and I was considering how the activity rate here has got low. I think it could be nice and useful to do something to, at least in part, improve this community's status.
I have been thinking for a while on what can be done from this point of view and some ideas have come to my mind. I'll list some of them here and wait to hear your opinions.
- Merging some boards: jcyouth forums have got a lot of boards and while this is a good thing for big communities (and this once was), it is negative when there are only a few people posting because it becomes... dispersive and the place ends up looking way more inactive.
- Making some new topics of discussion: I noticed most of the posts are just replies to old topics, which can be a problem. A lack of fresh topics of discussion often causes lack of activity overall.
- Bringing contests here from FF: around my community we periodically organize creativity contests (could be photography, writing, drawing...etc etc). If you people are interested I could at the same time hold them in here. In this case I would like to have 1 person of you who could "help me" managing the thing on this side.

I don't see why it would be out of the question, I wouldn't mind. Don't know bout the others though
Ah, lol, now I'm curious to know what the others think about this aswell.
My original proposal was: merge with my community getting a board in there, structured depending on your needs. (We use SMF too, just a different template and many more mods lol)
Anyway let's wait for other replies aswell...
