The first thing one must do is NOT go by the standard set by "the world", "hollywood",
"other people at school", etc.  Trying to please people just comes up dead- either a)you never please everyone/anyone and feel like a failure, or even worse b)you feel you look good to people and thus become prideful.

Second: If you really just want a workout routine to loose weight, here are some tips (I used to be a fitness buff):
  • You can't "spot check" fat.  Example: sit ups won't take away belly fat, arm curls won't take away arm fat, etc.  Those exercises will not take away the fat, but instead build the muscle under the fat- building muscle is good and wanted, but you want the fat to go away.
  • The only way to get rid of fat: burn more calories than you take in.  If you eat 2,000 calories a day, then you need to burn more than 2,000 through exercise.  Fat calories go away/shrink/loose their "fatty stuff" when you burn calories like this.
  • The best exercises for burning calories: running, cycling, swimming, boxing, wresteling, aerobics, pretty much anything which you work and work and work and don't stop.  Running and boxing (please, if you're gonna box, get some training) are probably the best all around.
[/list]

And thirdly:  As Paul said to the phillipians, "I don't mind repeating myself: rejoice.  Again I say, rejoice!"  But in our case: don't mind how you look, esp. if others think you look "bad".  Like I said in the first paragraph, please don't turn this into a self esteem issue.  You either sink further into depression or end up being a prideful person- neither of which is good.  Pray that God will stop your thought which nag at you to "look good".

Glad to give you advice.  Smiley  I've found that if you have a good gym nearvby with tredmills, or excercise bikes, you can run/ride while studying for school- two birds with one stone.  Or you could set up an exercise bike in your living room and play video games, watch TV, etc.

But I dn't think you're being honest with yourself.  Maybe you are, but you have "conflicting" wants.  I was in high school and didn't care about being popular, at all.  But I really wanted the coolest looking jeans.  I didn't care about impressing others, but found myself always staring in the mirror before school dances, which I always went to (staring in the mirror, and I'm a guy!).  So I understand.  You don't want to, but you do.

You first said:
Embarrassed I Am Tired Of Not Looking My Best And Being Uncomfortable In My Own Skin...?

But then, after I call yu out and give some advice about this situation, you say,

No, I'm Not Trying To Impress Others And I Don't Want To "Look Good: I Want To Be Fit And Healthy.

Now, I totally believe you when you say you want to be healthy.  But I also know that yes, self esteem issues are with you.  I totally understand the tension going on.  This is my advice:  Don't deny that those feelings of "wanting to look good" and "not feeling good in your own skin".  But at the same time plead with God to take them away, and help you to see His face.  Smiley

A tip, instead of eating big meals 2-3 times a day, break up your eating to 5 or more times per day. By that I mean that instead of eating one big meal, split it up into 3 parts and eat those 1-2 hours apart. It won't take long, and it keeps your metabolism going strong so you can burn off extra weight.

Eating big meals all at once "saturates" your body and some of the food just goes straight to storage instead of being burned off or pooped out. Make sure to drink lots of water (a lot of fat on the body is water-soluable, meaning it can be broken up by water) and take your vitamins! Vitamins are important because certain ones help process fat into useful stuff. Vitamin B for example helps your body process food better, and certain other vitamins break down fats that can't be broken down by water.

Exercise is important too, and even a little a day helps in the long run.

Peace!
