I'd always believed in God ever since I was little because my mom would tell me I was a miracle baby. After my mom had my older sister, her doctor advised her not to have another child because she has diabetes (She got it when she was 36 due to stress), even though she'd had my sister 3 years after she was diganosited. But, my mom wanted another child so badly that she prayed to God and 9 months later I was born. when I was born, however I had a breathing problem so I think I had to sat in the hospital for about a week and every night my mom would visit me and I think she would breast feed me too. Luckily I was able to get out of the hospital, but when I was 5 weeks old I was crossed eyes, so at 5 months old they operated on me and ever since then I've had to wear glasses, but luckily that's not a problem any more and now I have to wear them because I'm either nearsighted or far sighted, but I digress. Anyways, I was baptized in April of '91 when I was 2 months old. and It's hard not to belive in God when A.) you were baptized as a baby and B.) I'd gone to a catholic grade school from kindergarten to 8th grade and I was going to a Catholic high school. The year that I entered high school (Which was in 2005), happened to be the year that NCYC was going on. Let me explain a little about NCYC. It stands for National Cathoilc Youth Conference. It's bascially when a bunch of Cathoilc High school teens and chaprones from all over the U.S meet to celebrate their faith. It's usually for 3 days and you sleep in a hotel and The conference is usually held in a football dome in what ever state it's held in. It's every other year (So, this year is the conference, so I'm going to that). Anyways, all of us from our parish were excited to go. It was in Atlanta GA, so from where I live to where Atlanta is, that's an 8 hr bus drive and that's what we were on. when we got there we were all kind of cranky because we didn't get much sleep on the bus. So we get to the hotel and there's this whole mix up with rooms at the hotel, so we had to stay in the hotel basement for like 4 hrs because of it. So after that whole fiasco we went to the welcoming cermony what I think began with mass and I was still a little cranky. Then we went back and the next morning we went to mass and I was still cranky because it was morning. After that we had like breakout sessions that you could go to abd a thematic park. Most of us when to the park and there were famous cathoilc singers at the conference. it wasn't until the final mass on the last day that I really felt somthing. We were getting communion and there were a bunch of songs during that time because I think over 5,000 people go and it was so amazing because everyone was holding hand and closing their eyes and just singing their hearts out and it was so cool because that's when I really felt that I had a sense of belonging. Also that month was the same month that I started my confirmation classes and when I was confirmed in March of 2006, I felt this special feeling. This little testamony of mine might seem a little weird, but I think that I'm more "holy" because of it.
