I'm Making a story about Time Travel (for school) and I've made the begining but I'm not sure what to put next... and I really dont know what to call it

Heres what I have so far....
“Now all we have to do is plug this in and…” William said flipping a switch. There was a big “BANG” and then “CLUCKEDY, PLUMPEDY, CLUCK, poof…”
“BLAST! I’m NEVER going to get this thing to work!” William cursed.
“Take a break William. We’ve been working on it for months, and the past three week’s non-stop. Come on, let go have dinner. We can start again tomorrow.” Steven said grabbing William’s arm, dragging him out of the lab.
“Or, even better, we can stop for a few days.” Steven said jokingly.
“NO!” William said laughing “I mean… No that won’t be necessary, we need to get back to work as soon as possible, I don’t know how long—“
“Alright! We’ll start second thing in the morning” They laughed while walking out of the lab through the house and toward the door.
“Don’t forget your coats! It’s chilly out there!” said the housekeeper in the other room. “Oh yes! Thank you Mrs. Lakewood. What would we do without you?” Steven said as she entered the room with their coats, she was a short and skinny elderly lady, her white hair in her bonnet. “Probably freeze to death. Here you go, put these on. And don’t forget your gloves and scarves.” She said with a big smile “You two spend too much time in that lab of yours. You need to get out more.”
“What does it look like we’re doing?” William laughed.
“I mean ‘out’, you two need a vacation. You’re working too hard, your going to fry your brains.” She said with a caring smile.
“Oh! No need to worry about us Mrs. Lakewood. It’s too chilly outside for any frying.” William said jokingly.
“Little Master! You know what I mean!” she said.
“Good lord Mrs. Lakewood!” William said, “How many times have I told you to stop calling me that, my name is William.”
“Yes. William Chambers III. But no matter what, you will always be my little Master.” She said.
“And I’m Steven Longbourne V! Now enough with the chit-chat, I’m hungry! Let’s go eat already.” Steven said, “Mrs. Lakewood would you like to join us?” he asked.
“No thank you. I’m going to eat with my daughter tonight.” she said.
“Oh! How is Rebecca?” William asked.
“She’s doing well, she’s home from college for the weekend. This is her last year… Ha! I remember when you two were wee little babes—“
“Alright! No more! Let’s go! I’m Hungry!” Steven interrupted. They all laughed and Steven started to drag William out the door.
“Tell her I said hello!” William shouted as they went to the car.
“I will! You have a pleasant evening!” she shouted back. “Yes! You too!” William got into the passenger side of the car, Steven was driving. Steve peeled out of the driveway, honking jokingly.
Any Ideas?
